BW Converting Unlocks Next-Gen Printing, Packaging and Mail Solutions at DRUPA 2024
‘Achieve More with Less’ with Innovations from Baldwin, PCMC and W+D on Display
Saint Louis, Missouri – April 2, 2024 -- BW Converting is inviting print, packaging and mailing professionals on a quest to achieve more with less to beat a path to the newest and most developed technology at DRUPA.
DRUPA 2024 takes place May 28 to June 7 in Düsseldorf, Germany. BW Converting, in Hall 16 / Booth D20 & C21, comprises the print, mailing and packaging technology leaders Baldwin Technology, W+D and PCMC.
Discover the newest LED UV and print inspection technologies with Baldwin: Baldwin Technology is set to reveal three new products at DRUPA – A completely redesigned LED-UV curing platform, an even more powerful version of their trusted QuadCure UV line, and an upgraded print inspection product family. With these technologies, Baldwin aims to offer printers and manufacturers compact, efficient solutions that deliver new levels of speed and power.
“We are incredibly excited to share brand new solutions for the printing industry at DRUPA,” said Jonathan Fore, Product Management Director at Baldwin. “These new technologies fill critical gaps in the market, and we look forward to demonstrating how we can empower businesses to propel their print quality and productivity.”
Visitors can look forward to seeing how the best features of Baldwin’s wide array of existing LED-UV products were unified into one LED system with industry-leading UV power, compact size, and application flexibility.
DRUPA attendees can also witness Baldwin’s result of combining the latest generation of lights & cameras, modern UX design, and extensive inspection know-how into a super simple package that, when paired with the Defender 100% Inspection System, will be the most modern of its kind on the market.
Set new standards in digitally printed flexible packaging with PCMC: Experience the ION Hybrid Digital Press. Redefining flexible packaging, the ION breaks speed barriers at up to 400 feet per minute, translating to an output capacity of up to 1,733 square feet per minute – nearly an 800% productivity increase over existing digital presses. With advanced flexographic and digital printing capabilities, the ION enables customization at a scale previously unachievable.
“Keep an eye on ION, the wider, faster next generation digital printing for flexible packaging,” said Windell McGill, Product Launch Manager at PCMC. “ION opens more possibilities for brands with incredible speed-to-market advancements and mass customization at scale. For converters, ION offers operating efficiencies and the ability to profitably produce longer run lengths.”
Also on display will be the Meridian -- PCMC’s patented laser technology, which minimizes time, ink and waste in the anilox cleaning process. The Meridian deep cleans engravings of any line screen without increased surface temperature or hot spots.
Increase productivity and reduce labor needs with W+D: Step into the future of mailing solutions with W+D’s new innovative portfolio including the higher speed and wider product range BB820+ mail and ballot inserting system and the new wider print head i-Jet 3, the industry’s fastest high-quality envelope and direct mail inkjet overprint press, which has recently achieved a 39% increase in speed. Both of these machines will be running at DRUPA for attendees to see in action.
“At DRUPA and our nearby factory event being held during DRUPA, W+D will be showing our new portfolio of faster, easier and more flexible production technologies,” said Andrew Schipke, Marketing and Strategic Sales Vice President at W+D. “So, whether it is envelope converting, mail inserting, inkjet overprinting, new all-in-one inkjet mail converting and inserting or new e-commerce mailer bags, W+D will have machines running during DRUPA for visitors to see.”
The factory event for W+D machines will take place June 3 and 4th. Guests can expect to see the following machines at nearby W+D Neuwied factory:
WORLD PREMIER: W+D 628KC combi envelope + direct mail converter
NEW: W+D 410 KC easy enveloper combi envelope + direct mail converter
NEW: W+D 449 high-speed e-commerce mailing bag machine
NEW: W+D BB1000 all-in-one converter + inserter for pre-printed inkjet at Bad Oeynhausen
